I made two of the hats and coats to match. I did both in the round. The patterns were easy to understand. Thanks. Everyone who has seen the ones I made for my granddaughter thinks they are precious and couldn't believe that I had knitted the coats and hats.

Such a cute pattern!!
I have a couple questions:
1) The last few rows of the pattern - "For the back of the hat continue RSS. In each row decrease 10sts. Continue for 8 rows" - I decreased in rows 1, 3, 5 but now that I'm to row seven there are fewer than ten stiches on the needle. How many stitches should be left on the needle at the point where I "Thread the end of the yarn through remaining stitches and tie the knot."
2) "Sew on ribbons at the ends of the front edge" - It looks like the "ribbons" are knitted from the same yarn used for the hat - Am I knitting the ribbons?
Thank you!!

Your text "In each odd row decrease 10 stitches" Do you mean from the previous count of 22 rows or from "continue for 8 rows" I made the coat and love it;just unsure about this part of the hat. Thanks kindly if you can assist so I don't finish it incorrectly.
