Warm, cruelty-free and absolutely stylish, faux fur is back again this season in a big way. Choose your pattern and run wild with the fashion pack. Below, see our favorite ways to channel your faux animal with real style.
Fit to Print
Patterns vary wildly, but our hands down favorite is leopard. Done up in a swing coat with thick tights and a vintage dress, it’s an easy, on-trend way to wear faux fur. Look, too, for new multi-colored faux fur. After all, if no animal was harmed in the making, might as well have some fun with Mother Nature.
Cropping Up
We mentioned swing coats above, but a new outerwear choice is faux fur cropped to the waist. Paired with a high-waisted skirt or pant, the look is best when your layer underneath is streamlined. This is also great for evening, worn with silk and statement jewelry.
Vested Interest
Left open or zipped up, the faux fur vest adds interest to a dress, if you’re going for a hippie, retro style. Or, throw a close-fitting faux fur vest over a tight, long sleeve tee, slim pants and high boots.
Go Long
Try a super long faux fur coat, down to the ankles, but let it be the main staple of the outfit. Or, go totally rock star and make the fur itself long and shaggy. Who said you can’t always have a good hair day?
Stolen
If the whole shaggy coat is too much of a fashion investment, get in on the trend by throwing a fur scarf or stole over a leather or wool jacket. This is still on point, fashion-wise, without taking over your look.
Fur Accents
Another way to get in on the trend is with accessories and accents such as a faux foxtail hanging off your shoulder bag. And, as the weather gets colder, try furry gloves or earmuffs.
